To provide a connection method with which WLAN connection to a desired master unit can be reliably performed, even though a plurality of master units having the same SSID exist.

A mobile terminal apparatus includes: an exclusion list memory for storing information of a prescribed basic service set identifier; an association processing unit for cooperating with a master unit of a connection trial object to perform association processing by using information of a basic service set identifier included in a signal of the master unit while sequentially defining a master unit having high receiving strength as a trail object of wireless LAN connection regarding master units other than master units with a signal including information of the same basic service set identifier as the prescribed basic service set identifier stored in the exclusion list memory given thereto; an authentication processing unit for cooperating with the master unit of the connection trail object to perform authentication processing by using an authentication key when the association processing is successful; and a connection establishing unit for storing the basic service set identifier of the master unit of the connection trail object as one of the prescribed basic service set identifier in the exclusion list memory when the authentication processing is not successful.
