Abstract:
To provide a modified cross-section fiber excellent in an opening property without requiring card opening or the like during processing, and to provide an inner cotton with an excellent bulk recovery rate by using the fiber.SOLUTION: There is provided a modified cross-section fiber that can maintain spaces between adjacent single fibers, and improves an opening property by providing a specific modified shape of a cross-section of the fibers. The modified cross-section fiber is a fiber having a core portion 2 and a plurality of fin portions 3 protruding radially from the core portion in a cross-sectional shape perpendicular to a fiber axis, in which: a fin index is 1.05 to 3.00; the number of the fin portions is 4 to 12; and a fiber filling rate is 20 to 80%.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
