Abstract:

To provide a modified vinyl-alcohol-based polymer that has excellent oxygen gas barrier properties, viscosity stability, and biodegradability.SOLUTION: Provided is a modified vinyl-alcohol-based polymer which is represented by formula (I), where the contents a (mol%), b (mol%), and c (mol%) of respective monomer units relative to all the monomer units satisfy expressions (1) to (3). 1≤a<10 (1), 3≤c≤15 (2) and [100-(a+c)]×0.9≤b≤[100-(a+c)] (3), where X, Y, and Z each independently represent H, a formyl group, or an alkanoyl group having 2-10 carbon atoms.SELECTED DRAWING: None
