Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide artificial kidney equipment in a simple and extremely reliable modular type home dialyzing system automating all of processes, requiring only the minimum labor of a patient, advantageous from an aspect of cost and made movable.
SOLUTION: The artificial kidney equipment has a dialyzer having a dialyzing membrane for discriminating between a blood side and a dialyzing fluid side and the extracorporeal circulation circuit comprising the artery and vein side circuits connected to the dialyzer to become a route for mainly guiding the blood of a patient to the dialyzer and subsequently returning the same to patient. The extracorporeal circulation circuit has a reversibly rotatable blood pump and a dialyzing fluid circuit including a dialyzing fluid supply flow channel for supplying a dialyzing fluid to the dialyzer and a dialyzing fluid drain flow channel for draining the dialyzing fluid from the dialyzer. The dialyzing fluid circuit has a dialyzing fluid pump for circulating the dialyzing fluid and communicates with an ultrafiltration tank through a reversibly rotatable ultrafiltration pump to perform the liquid transport from the blood side to the dialyzing fluid side through the dialyzing membrane and the liquid transport from the dialyzing fluid side to the blood side.
