Title:
MODULATION TYPE FAR-ULTRAVIOLET SOLID LIGHT EMITTING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2006127924
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a modulation type far-ultraviolet solid light emitting device which receives no influence of impurities, and which utilizes a high purity hexagonal boron nitride single crystal to emit a high brightness far-ultraviolet light reflecting unique characteristics.

This is equipped with a light emitting layer composed of the high purity hexagonal boron nitride crystal to emit the far-ultraviolet light having a single light emitting peak in the vicinity of a wavelength 215 nm, an exciting means to excite the light emitting layer at a high speed, a control means to space-modulate excited particles by the exciting means, and a vacuum container to house these, and by controlling the control means to modulate the excited particles, the far-ultraviolet light discharged from the light emitting layer is strongly intensity-modulated at a high speed and is outputted from the vacuum container to the exterior.
