Abstract:

PURPOSE: To secure the rigidities of an upper module and an under-module, and absorb the load applied from ahead the car body with a front pillar.

CONSTITUTION: As an impact absorbing part, a crush bead 87 swelling out inward in the direction across the car width is furnished at the rising wall part 81A of a front pillar outer front UDM 81 of an under-module UDM 16, while a crush bead 95 as impact absorbing part is also provided at the rising wall part 84A of a front pillar inner UDM 84 of the UDM 16. The lower part 20A of a front pillar 20 of an upper module UPM 12 is embodied in a closed section structure 72 stretching in the vertical direction of the car body, and the front pillar inner-lower part 52 of the UDM 16 is also formed in a closed section structure 85 extending in the vertical direction of the car body.
