PURPOSE: To simplify the controlling of module tools by providing a controlling memory for writing data, a memory reading/writing part for reading/writing data, and a controlling means for feeding update data to said memory reading/ writing part.
CONSTITUTION: An assembling device 31 carries out automatic assembly by taking out an adapter module 13, an intermediate module 14, and a cutting edge part module 15 according to the control of an assembling device control part 29. And, a module tool 12 which is assembled is installed on the main spindle 11 of a machine tool. Here, due to the vertical movement of a cylinder, a reader head 19 is positioned with respect to the controlling memories 16, 17, 18 of the modules 13, 14, 15 respectively. And, a length data and the life data of the controlling memory 18 of the cutting edge module are read. After that, these data are fed to a controlling means 21 to judge a breakage condition and the life of the cutting edge module 15, facilitating controlling.
