PURPOSE: To facilitate the structure of various module type ATE(automatic test equipments) and improve the quality of a test signal by using a wireless receiver for the electric contact within a device, and avoiding a long wiring.
CONSTITUTION: A module type ATE 10 is formed of a test controller 12, a plurality of test modules 16, 17, a mounting base 28 for fixing a circuit board 26 to be tested, and a wireless receiver 30 for ensuring the electric contact between them. Each test module 16, 17 has a plurality of pin cards 22 controlled by a single module controller 20, and it generates a test signal to be applied to the circuit board 26 and also detects the response signal from the circuit board 26. The execution of this program is monitored by a work station 11, and the detection result is analyzed by the test controller 12. The receiver 30 has a means for mapping the electric contact means between the modules 16, 17 and the mounting base 28, and ensures a communication of high quality between them.
