To provide a moisture-permeable and water-proof material, capable of utilizing good points of both of a porous layer and a nonporous layer and always enhancing moisture-release property to the outside of clothes and having excellent moisture-permeable performance and water-proof performance by changing a resin layer to the porous layer when perspiration is low and changing the resin layer to the nonporous layer when perspiration is high.
This moisture-permeable and water-proof material has one or more resin layers at least on one side of a fiber structure and contains fine particles having stimulus responsive property in the resin layer and has spaces formed by partial release of a closely bonded part between the resin layer and the fine particles around these fine particles. These fine particles cause a volume change by outside stimulation such as humidity or temperature.
