PURPOSE: To obtain the subject release paper, excellent in printing effects and having a high mechanical strength by laminating nonwoven sheets prepared by depositing continuous three-dimensional netlike fibrillated fibers of a polyolefin in random directions in two or more layers and partially heat bonding the interstices between the fibers.

CONSTITUTION: The objective two-layer release paper, obtained by depositing continuous three-dimensional netlike fibrillated fibers consisting of a polyolefin, such as high-density polyethylene having ≥0.94 density, in random directions to form nonwoven sheets, then laminating the sheets in two or many layers, partially heat bonding the interstices between the above-mentioned fibers and suitable as wall covering materials.
