PURPOSE: To obtain mold device having large endothermic effect for caterpillar type continuous caster by injecting cooling water toward cooling penetrating holes in a cooling block from a nozzle and forming a construction water-cooling the cooling block under contact with a cast sheet.
CONSTITUTION: In each cooling block 1, plural cooling penetrating holes 7 are arranged at right angle to the advancing direction of blocks 1 and in parallel to the flat wall face. Further, in the one side face of cooling block chains 2, 3, the cooling water pipes 8, 9 are arranged at upper and lower parts, so as to face many cooling water injecting nozzles 10 to the penetrating holes 7. At the time of injecting the cooling water against the side face of circulating block chains 2, 3 from each injecting nozzle 10, the cooling water cools the peripheral wall of penetrating hole 7, under condition of coinciding the penetrating hole 7 with the nozzle 10 in order, and next flows to a trough 11. In this way, the desired mold device having large endothermic effect is obtd.
