To provide a centering method which enables the high-precision registration of a lens center to the center of a mirror frame and provide a mold for insert molding.
The mold has the double-acting slides 36 in three directions in an equal interval that move in the direction of the lens 14 as the mold is closed. When the lens 14 is arranged on the fixed core 33 and the mold is closed, the double-acting slides 36 are moved toward the lens 14. With the tips of the centering parts 51 installed in the double-acting slides 36 pressing the lens 14, the lens 14 is moved toward almost the center position of the mirror frame to be molded. The accurate registration between the molded mirror frame and the center of the lens 14 is realized by the balance of the elastic forces by the three leaf springs 52 of the centering parts 51, the forces generated simultaneously with the closure of the mold.
