Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binder coated refractory capable of reducing environmental pollution caused by ammonia and formaldehyde.SOLUTION: In a binder coated refractory, the surface of a refractory aggregate is coated with a solid coating layer containing a dimethylene ether type phenol resin as a binder. The dimethylene ether type phenol resin can be cured without the need for using a curing agent such as hexamethylenetetramine, and contamination by ammonia produced by decomposition of the hexamethylenetetramine can be reduced. The amount of formaldehyde contained in the dimethylene ether type phenol resin is small, and contamination by the formaldehyde can be reduced.SELECTED DRAWING: None
