Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a casting which can hardly react with titanium material at low cost by modifying zirconium material which contains CaO of the prescribed amount and the mode of the compound of which is ZrO2 of cubic system and calcium zirconate.
SOLUTION: A casting having the composition consisting of, by weight, 10% CaO and the balance zirconia is modified so that the mode of compounds is ZrO2 of cubic system and calcium zirconate (CaZrO3). The casting which prevents generation of a deteriorated layer on the surface of the casting in reaction with the molten titanium and titanium alloy can be obtained at a low cost.
