PURPOSE: To provide a means for preventing molten resin from flowing out to an outer lead side through a space between leads even in the case of a tie- barless lead frame in a mold press machine for forming molded articles for protecting chips set on a lead frame.
CONSTITUTION: Ribs 30 for preventing molten resin 31 from flowing out to the external side through a space between leads of a lead frame are provided on the lower face of a top force 11 and the upper face of a bottom force 12 of a mold press machine so as to protrude toward the boundary between an inner lead and an outer lead. According to this arrangement, the outflow of the molten resin 31 to the outer lead side through the space between the leads can be prevented by the ribs 30 at the time of mold press; therefore a molded article having a good shape can be formed.
