To provide a mold releasing method of a plastic lens capable of permitting the seeping of water through the interface of a molded plastic lens and a mold without detaching a retention means such as a tacky tape, etc. therefrom and of accelerating the release of the plastic lens and the mold.
A monomer is injected into and solidified within a lens molding unit 1 wrapped by a humidity-permeable tacky tape 4 in which a male mold 2 and a female mold 3 are configured in a state where the respective lens molding planes both oppose one another via a specified gap so as to mold a plastic lens and to retain the same within a humidified atmosphere over a specified period, and as a result, the release of the plastic lens from both of the molds 2 and 3 is accelerated. In a case where the humidity-permeating performance of the tacky tape 4 is inferior on this occasion, a humidifying treatment is performed by setting the humidity of the humidified atmosphere at a level higher than that of a case where a tacky tape 4 having a superior humidity-permeating performance is used.
