To improve the productivity by uniformly cooling the peripheral part of the bottom part of a mold for press shaping a glass panel for a cathode ray tube.
The peripheral part of the mold bottom part is uniformly cooled by forming the shape of the cross section of at least a part close to the mold bottom part of each supporting leg 4, provided at the bottom part of the mold 2 for shaping a molded body 1, into a nearly wing profile, and then preventing the flow of cooling air from being peeled by the supporting leg when the cooling air flows to the peripheral part along with the bottom face of the mold after the cooling air blown out from a nozzle provided at the lower part of the mold collides with the center of the mold bottom part so that a hind part of each supporting leg, whereinto the cooling air does not flow, is avoided.
