To provide a mold which is excellent in abrasion resistance by forming a rigid film which is durable and excellent in adhesion by a method wherein either nitride of Ta or Nb which is high in corrosion resistance is so formed as to be free from crack and peeling off.

A mold, a first layer composed of Cr formed on a molding surface of the mold, and a second layer composed of either of Ta nitride or Nb nitride which is formed on the first layer are provided, and the first layer and the second layer are formed with an ion plating method. It is preferable that the first layer and the second layer are formed after applying bombardment treating to the molding surface of the mold with Ca ion. Further, it is also preferable that after bombardment treating is applied to a surface of the first layer formed on the mold with either of Ta ion or Nb ion, the second layer is formed with nitride of the same element.
