Title:
MOLDED ARTICLE FROM CYCLOOLEFIN-BASED POLYMER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3945269
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molded article that is formed from an addition polymer of a cycloolefin-based monomer having a polar group and has excellent optical characteristics, adhesion and heat resistance.
SOLUTION: The molded article is produced by subjecting a cycloolefin-based monomer represented by formula (1) to an addition polymerization reaction to produce a cycloolefin-based polymer and molding the resulting cycloolefin- based polymer as a molding resin material by a melt extrusion method. Preferably, the molding resin material is one produced by subjecting a cycloolefin- based monomer represented by formula (1) and a monomer copolymerizable therewith to the addition polymerization reaction. Further, it is preferable that the molding resin material is one produced by carrying out the addition polymerization reaction in the presence of a transition metal complex compound represented by formula (2). The molded article thus produced is preferably used as an optical film or sheet or as an optical fiber.
