PURPOSE: To enable the proper opening of a cover for discharging an air bag by making the cover easy to break through a burst joint cavity and the thinned part of a top wall when pressure acts on the inner surface of the top wall at the time of expansion of the air bag.
CONSTITUTION: The outer surface of a top wall 32 is covered with a layer of sheetlike leather 40 and the layer of the leather 40 has an exposed surface and an inner surface and an easily breakable burst joint 52 of a required burst pattern is provided to the inner surface and the top wall 32 has the V-shaped groove 54 demarcating the thinned part 56 aligned with the cavity of the burst joint 52. The outer surface of the top wall 32 comprising a plastic resin material is firmly bonded to the inner surface of the layer of the leather 40 having the cavity of the burst joint 52 and, by this constitution, an air bag cover 10 becomes easy to break through the cavity of the burst joint 52 arranged in order to separate the air bag 28 to discharge the same and the thinned part 56 of the top wall 32 when pressure acts on the inner surface of the top wall 32 at the time of expansion of the air bag 28.
