PURPOSE: To provide a molding method of ceramic molded body capable of drying in a short time without generating the crack of a preliminary molded body obtained by slip casting molding method.
CONSTITUTION: A slurry is prepared by adding water and a water retention assistant of 0.01-0.15 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. ceramic raw material to the ceramic raw material. The slurry is supplied to a mold 3 from a slurry supply pipe 4 to obtain the preliminary molded body by the slip casting molding method. The ceramic molded body is obtained by heating and drying the preliminary molded body. As the water retention assistant, a polysaccharide produced from microorganisms, particularly β-1,3-glucan (curdlan in trivial name) is preferably used. The preliminary molded body has pores ≤0.09μm of pore diameter and ≤45% porosity.
