Abstract:

PURPOSE: To orientate short fibers in a composite kneaded substance containing short fibers in the uniaxial direction extending over the whole cross sections.

CONSTITUTION: A plunger 6 is arranged into a die 2 formed to the bottom of a cylinder vessel 1. A kneaded-substance extrusion flow path 5 is formed between the plunger 6 and the die 2. The plunger is moved while being unified with the pushing operation of a piston 3. Shearing force is applied to a composite kneaded substance 4 extruded from the kneaded-substance extrusion flow path 5 by the relative motion of the plunger 6 and the die 2, and short fibers 4a in the composite kneaded substance 14 are oriented in the uniaxial direction.
