Abstract:

PURPOSE: To mold the FRP hollow object of light weight and high rigidity effectively.
CONSTITUTION: Heaters 4 are arranged at respective end surfaces to be connected of a pair of molds 1 each provided with a molding part with the shape of splitted hollow molded object and a vacuumizing port 3 which communicating with said molding part, and then the molding material 7 reinforced with glass fiber mat in the state where thermoplastic resin is used as matrix is arranged on both sides of the partition plate 5 onto whose peripheral parts of both surfaces the material layer 6 with excellent mold release characteristics is fitted, and said material is set between the molds. The molds are clamped and after each molding material has been molded by vacuumizing, the molds are opened and the partition plate is taken out of the molds. Next, the molds are clamped again, and the surface to be butted of each molded object is welded mutually, thereby obtaining FRP hollow object.
