To provide a molding resin material which is a thermoplastic resin mixed with a polycaprolactone and, in producing pellets from it, is not bound by such requirements as the temperature control of the strands and the addition of water tanks, does not generate much fine powder attached to or mingled with the pellets, consequently easily yields thermoplastic resin pellets containing only a small amount of fine powder and improved in the molding problems caused by the fine powder such as the occurrence of silver streaks and the deterioration of the optical performance due to the formation of unmelted foreign materials.

The molding resin material is a pellet of a thermoplastic resin composition consisting of 0.1-15 wt.% of a polycaprolactone and 85-99.9 wt.% of a thermoplastic resin other than the polycaprolactone. The content of the fine powder with particle size of 50-750 μm in the pellet is ≤100 ppm.
