PURPOSE: To accelerate fuel gas reaction in an anode and to increase power generating performance by adding alkali tungstate to an electrolyte comprising alkali metal carbonate.
CONSTITUTION: Alkali metal carbonate is used in an electrolyte. As alkali tungstate, K2WO4, Li2WO4, or Na2WO4 is used. As an anode, a porous nickel family plate such as Ni, Ni-Cr, Ni-Co, or Ni-Al2O3, or the material obtained by adding W, WC, or W2C to the above nickel family plate is used. The content of alkali tungstate is specified to 0.001∼1wt% of alkali metal carbonate. Thereby, the reduction-deposition of tungsten by hydrogen arises on the anode side and the oxidation reaction of hydrogen gas is accelerated in that position, and the power generation performance of a cell is increased.
