PURPOSE: To obtain a molten lactam suitable for the production of an injection- molded polyamide part containing a filler which is reinforced with glass fibers, etc., and prepared by incorporating a specified amount of a copolyamide with specified solubility and melting temperature into the molten lactam.
CONSTITUTION: An objective molten lactam with increased viscosity which is prepared by incorporating (A) high molecular weight copolyamide having solubility in a molten lactam of at least 4 wt.%, preferably at least 6 wt.% and a temperature to give an appropriate dissolution velocity of less than 200°C, preferably less than 180°C into (B) molten lactam and has viscosity at 135°C of 100 mPa.sec, preferably 150 mPa.sec (measured excluding filler and reinforcer).
