Abstract:
PURPOSE:To measure a one-dimensional average liquid level even when the liquid level of molten metal violently flows and to measure it as well even when the luminance of the liquid level is high. CONSTITUTION:A molten metal liquid level 15 is irradiated with parallel laser slit beams by a laser beam source 11, one-dimensional scan mirror 12 and reflection mirror 16, video signals obtained by executing the image pickup of the reflected laser slit beams from the liquid level 15 at a TV camera 18 are digitized by an A/D converter 19 and further converted to one-dimensional data by a compression and average processing device 21 after removing the low frequency component at a high-pass filter 20, the position irradiated with the laser slit beams on the molten metal liquid level is detected by a laser position detector 22 according to these one-dimensional data, and the liquid level is measured by executing coordinate transformation at an arithmetic unit 23.
