Title:
MOLTEN METAL RETAINING FURNACE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3311504
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To permit automatic discharge surely when molten metal has leaked into a furnace body and prevent the adhesion of the molten metal to hearth bricks even when the molten metal has leaked into the furnace body.
CONSTITUTION: A molten metal discharging port 14, blockaded by a metallic plate 15 having a melting point lower than the temperature of molten metal, is provided on a wall at the lowest place of the bottom of a furnace body 1 whereby molten metal is collected into the molten metal discharging port 14 when the molten metal has leaked out of a curcible and the molten metal melts the metallic plate 15, whose melting point is lower than the temperature of the molten metal, then, is discharged automatically to the outside of the furnace body 1. On the other hand, glass wool 12 is laid on the hearth bricks 13 on the hearth of the furnace and when the leakage of the molten metal is generated, the adhesion of the molten metal, adhered to the hearth bricks before discharging it from the molten metal discharging port 14 automatically, is prevented.
