To provide a monitoring device that enables accurate detection of abnormal situations.SOLUTION: A monitoring device 600 includes: a receiving unit that receives radio wave strength information indicating the radio wave strength when an antenna device receives information transmitted from a wireless tag attached to a user from a plurality of antenna devices installed at different locations; and a detection unit that detects an abnormality occurring to the user based on at least one of the radio wave strength information received by the receiving unit from the plurality of antenna devices and the reception status of the radio wave strength information.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 16
