To provide a technique for making a diver aware of an occurrence of an abnormality in breathing of the diver and making a surrounding person, such as a buddy, aware of it.SOLUTION: Provided is a monitoring device including: a breathing sound information acquisition unit for acquiring breathing sound information regarding breathing sound of a diver collected by a sound collection sensor attached to the chest of the diver; an abnormality detection unit for detecting an abnormality in the breathing of the diver based on the breathing sound information; and a notification processing execution unit for executing notification processing in response to detection of the abnormality in breathing of the diver by the abnormality detection unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
