Abstract:
To detect a monitor signal in a short time without deteriorating wavelength use efficiency.
A transmission signal transmitted through an optical fiber transmission line is set to be an optical FDM signal which is wavelength-multiplexed. A monitor light signal SV is inserted between the channel slots. The monitor light signal SV is generated by executing spectrum diffusion on a monitor carrier and intensity-modulating the light signal. The optical FDM signal and the monitor light signal are returned to an opposite transmission line in light relay and are received by respective terminal stations. Thus, the modulation degree of the monitor light signal can be made deep and the monitor signal can be detected in a short time.
