Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the subject compound, having high sterilizing effects and useful as a disinfectant for humans and animals, medical equipment, etc.
CONSTITUTION: The objective compound is expressed by formula I (R1 is 3,4- dichlorobenzyl, 4-chlorophenyl, 3,4-dichlorophenyl, benzyl or 4-fluorobenzyl; R2 is octyl, 3,4-dichlorobenzyl, dodecyl, decyl, 3-trifluoromethylphenyl, etc.), e.g. N1-(3,4-dichlorobenzyl)-N5-octyl-biguanide. This compound expressed by formula I is obtained by thermally reacting an amine expressed by the formula R1-NH2 with an N1-cyanoguanidine compound expressed by formula II, as necessary, in the presence of an inert solvent such as 2-ethoxyethanol.
