PURPOSE: To enable the titled ribbon to be used on an impact printer of the light transmission end detecting system and obtain clear printed images with excellent hiding property, by adding titanium oxide (which has a favorable hiding property) to an ink layer of a multi-strike ribbon.
CONSTITUTION: An adhesive layer is provided on a base as required, then a material obtained by mixing and dispersing a resin, an oil poorly compatible with the resin, a coloring material and titanium oxide, optionally with a solvent, in a ball mill or the like is applied to thereto to provide an ink layer, thereby obtaining the multi-strike ribbon. For example, a polyester film having a thickness of 7μm is suitably used as the base. A linear polyester, an acrylic resin or the like may be used as the material for the adhesive layer, which is optionally provided in a thickness of several micrometers. The resin constituting the ink layer may be, for example, a vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer or a polycarbonate. The coloring material may be a colored dye or pigment, for example, Alkali Blue or Benzidine Yellow.
