Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new monoclonal antibody against connective tissue growth factor(CTGF) which reacts with the whole or a part of human, mouse and rat CTGF and is useful in the treatment or prevention for various diseases caused by CTGF and the determination or the like of CTGF. SOLUTION: This monoclonal antibody is a new monoclonal antibody possessing various properties, e.g. showing reactivity to all the human, mouse and rat connective tissue growth factor(CTGF), displaying reactivity to the both of human and mouse CTGF and no reactivity to rat CTGF, exerting reactivity to the both of mouse and rat CTGF and no reactivity to human CTGF, inhibiting the linkage between human ren-derived fibroblast strain 293-T and human CTGF, inhibiting the linkage between rat ren-derived fibroblast strain NRK-49F or the like and human CTGF or controlling the increase of renal hydroxypurine and is useful in the treatment or prevention for various diseases caused by human CTGF and the determination or the like of CTGF in the body fluid of mammals.
