To provide a method for the immunological determination of carboxymethylated hemoglobin which is one of AGE in humor, especially a hemoglobin carboxymethylated at the side chain amino group of the lysine residue confirmed to have a relationship to nephropathy in high sensitivity, accuracy and reproducibility.
The carboxymethylated hemoglobin in humor is determined by using an immunological determination reagent containing a monoclonal antibody produced e.g. by hybridoma 9H6 (NIBH deposit No.773) or hybridoma 7B8 (NIBH No.774), having a dissociation constant of ≤10-8 M and a dissociation rate constant of $10-2 s-1 to a peptide having a specific amino acid sequence and carboxymethylated at the side chain amino group of the 5th lysine residue from the N-terminal or to a peptide having another specific amino acid sequence and carboxymethylated at the side chain amino group of the 5th lysine residue from the N-terminal.
