Abstract:
To improve non-absorbable monofilament sutures.
The suture comprises a monofilament including ultra high molecular weight polyethylene possessing a weight average molecular weight of greater than about 400,000. Method for producing the ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene suture is also disclosed. The combination of a surgical needle-suture combination includes a surgical suturing needle and a suture attached to the needle. A method for suturing a wound uses the monofilament sutures.
