Title:
MONOLITHIC ZERO-CROSS TRIAC DRIVER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0324816
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To make it possible to execute trigger only in the vicinity of a zero crossing point by constituting the TRIAC driver of a resistor network connected between two terminals to be used for applying a control signal to a control means. CONSTITUTION: The resistor network constituted of resistors 21, 22 and 21', 22' is formed between two main terminals 13, 14. The network is functioned only as a leakage route for coupling charge from the main terminals 13, 14 up to the gates of transistors 16, 16'. When voltage impressed to the main terminals 13, 14 is held at a high level, a current is allowed to flow into the gate of the field effect transistor(FET) 16 and the applied current exists in both of bright and dark states. A Zener diode 18 is used for clamping voltage between the gate and source of the FET 16 independently of the values of the resistors 21, 22. Consequently trigger is attained only in the vicinity of the zero crossing point.
