Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device which has a high lift effect by morphing with a simple mechanism, has high performance as a vertical steering face, and can correspond to even a small sized flap.SOLUTION: A main wing 3 of a VTOL aircraft comprises: a wing body 10 having a flap housing part 14 at a rear edge; a flap 20 comprising a morphing wing which can be housed in the flap housing part 14; a rolling mechanism part for rotationally driving a torque tube; and a moving mechanism part for moving the flap 20. The flap 20 has: an outside plate which constitutes a surface of the morphing wing and is deformable; a morphing rib 22 which is located in the morphing wing and holds a deformed state of the outside plate; and the torque tube which is located in a span direction of an internal forward edge of the morphing wing, around of an outer periphery of which the outside plate is wound, and which is rotationally driven thereby changing girth lengths of a wing upper surface part and a wing lower surface part of the outside plate.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
