Abstract:
To obtain a synthetic fiber which has the repellent effect on European house dust mite and is excellent in laundering fastness and persistent insect control by kneading a specific amount of a terpene resin in nylon fiber as an insect-controlling agent, when the nylon is melt-extruded.
A terpene resin is kneaded in nylon fiber of, for example, nylon 6 or a polyester fiber of, for example, polyethylene terephthalate in an amount of 0.1-3.0wt.%, when the fiber polymer is melt-extruded into fibers whereby insect-controlling synthetic fiber of high safety, useful as clothing, mats and beddings, is obtained.
