Title:
MOTION DETECTION CIRCUIT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3425320
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a failure in a display image by image by extracting a difference component between frames from a video signal, applying band limit to the difference component in a horizontal direction, comparing the inter-frame difference signal subjected to band limit with a prescribed setting value so as to discriminate a motion and to control a characteristic of a filter depending on the pattern of the video signal thereby detecting the motion accurately without malfunction.
SOLUTION: An inter-frame difference signal outputted from an inter-frame motion detection circuit 15c is fed to an absolute value circuit 15e via a horizontal low pass filter(LPF) 15i in place of a horizontal LPF 15d. The frequency characteristic of the horizontal LPF 15i is varied up to a through-state, that is, an input signal is outputted without any modification. The horizontal LPF 15i detects pattern of a composite video signal fed to an input terminal 15a. As a result, the frequency characteristic is controlled. A pattern detection circuit 22 controls the frequency characteristic of the horizontal LPF 15i to be in a through-state as the simplest method.
