PURPOSE: To improve error correcting ability by recording an error correcting block number showing an error correcting block as identification information in every error correcting block added to audio data.
CONSTITUTION: Specified identification data is recorded as a block ID 57. Namely, 2 bytes of block ID, 2 bits of film roll number (the first half), 6 bits of sector address showing the block number of film block, 1 bit of recording position, 15 bits of film block number, 2 bits of film roll number (the latter half) and 2 bytes of error correcting code are recorded as the block ID 57. The error correcting block number consecutively given to every full block is recorded as the block ID recorded by 2 bytes. By giving the number of an ECC full block in such a way, the film block whose error can not be corrected is detected in the case of correcting the error.
