To provide a motion toy in which the back and forth movements of a moving body are accelerated in simple constitution.
This motion toy comprises the moving body 13 to be moved back and forth, a driving means 14 for the back and forth movements of the moving body, and a transmission mechanism 20 for converting rotational driving force based on the output of the driving means to translatory driving force along the back and forth movements of the moving body and transmitting it to the moving body. The transmission mechanism is provided with two rack members 21 and 22 disposed along back and forth movement directions and a gear mechanism 30 rotationally driven by the driving means for imparting the translatory driving force in opposite directions to the two rack members.
