Patent Searching and Data

Title:
MOTION VECTOR DETECTOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2007194973
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a motion vector detector which extends a search range by thinning pixels while maintaining computational complexity, a memory capacity, and the number of representative point pixels and prevents the reduction in features of images due to usage of a high-magnification lens and is capable of detecting motion vectors of high precision.

A luminance signal Y of an image imaged by a CCD 1 is input to a horizontal thinning device 3 and is subjected to thinning processing of eliminating pixels in a ratio of 1:2 in a horizontal direction. A thinned signal YH1 and a thinned signal YH2 are input to first and second block motion vector detectors 4 and 5 respectively, and motion vector detection processing per block by a representative point matching method and correlative value data calculation processing are performed. A CPU 6 detects a motion vector of an entire image on the basis of motion vectors per block and correlative value data which are input from the first and second block motion vector detectors 4 and 5.
