Abstract:
To provide an electric motor control device which can determine the life of a smoothing capacitor with high accuracy, without need of a large number of additional components and additional configuration.SOLUTION: An electric motor control device 10 includes: an abnormality determination circuit 26 which determines the abnormality of a smoothing capacitor C2, based on that a coil application voltage, which is detected by voltage division by a snubber circuit 23, exceeds a threshold to determine the life of the smoothing capacitor C2, while switching elements 20, 22 are being PWM driven. As such, since the electric motor control device determines the abnormality of the smoothing capacitor C2 including the decrease of the capacitance of the smoothing capacitor C2, from the magnitude of a switching noise at the PWM drive, the life of the smoothing capacitor C2 can be determined with high accuracy without complicating the configuration.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
