SOLUTION: A motor-controlled toy with an encoder is comprised of a motor 4 driving a motor-controlled toy 1, an encoder 3 detecting the rotational condition of the motor 4 induced by the operation of the motor-controlled toy 1, a limit switch 5 provided before and after the movable portion leading the shaft of the motor 4, a control ROM 2 reading the information of the encoder 3 and the limit switch 5 and controlling the motor 4, and a display 6 displaying what is indicated by the control ROM 2, and the control ROM 2 contains a motor control 22 controlling the motor 4, encoder information reading 23 reading information from the encoder 3, limit switch information acquisition 24 monitoring the condition of the limit switch 5, a main processing 21 centrally controlling the motor control 22, encoder information reading 23 and limit switch information acquisition 24, and display 25 displaying on the display 6 in response to an instruction from the main processing 21.
