To reduce the size of a motor and appropriately increase the output thereof.
A motor controller 10 is constructed of: PDU 12 that sequentially commutates current passed through a motor M according to a pulse width modulation signal; a PWM signal generation unit 27 that generates a pulse width modulation signal according to a carrier signal whose frequency and phase can be changed; a position sensor 15 that detects the amount of state of rotation related to the rotation period of the motor M; and a synchronization control unit 31 that detects the phase difference between a carrier signal and a rotation period. When the rotation frequency of the motor M is equal to or higher than a predetermined frequency and the above phase difference is equal to or lower than a predetermined value, the synchronization control unit carries out the following processing based on a multiple that varies according to the number of revolutions of the motor M: it sets the frequency of the carrier signal to a value corresponding to the multiple for one rotation period of the motor M in electrical angle and synchronizes the control period of current feedback control on the motor M with the rotation period of the motor M.
