Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rotate a rotor to the target position even when the wire of the coil of a motor, which is feedback-controlled with an encoder count value, breaks.
SOLUTION: The motor 12 is provided with independent two systems of drive coils 35 and 36, and also is provided with two systems of motor drivers 37 and 38 for driving each system of drive coils 35 and 36 separately, and this motor controller diagnoses the existence of the wire breaking of each system of drive coils 35 and 36, based on the output of a wire break detecting circuit 60. As a result, when the wire breaking of some system of drive coil is detected, this controller switches the feedback control over into open loop control, outputs a drive signal to the motor driver using the drive coils in residual systems operating normally so as to switch the current application phases of the drive coils in order, counts the drive signals, and rotates the rotor at a slow velocity to the target position based on the count value.
