PURPOSE: To control a general motor without influence of an ambient temperature and the temperature of the motor itself by controlling the output of power regulating means according to the amplitude of an effective current.
CONSTITUTION: A sample holding circuit 11 holds absolute value outputs IU, IV, IW of a current detector 9 according to sample signals SU, SV, SW output from a microcomputer 10. An effective current detector 12 samples the specific phase time point of the phase current of a motor thereby to detect the effective component of the current. Accordingly, power regulating means 2 is controlled according to the amplitude of the effective current to accurately control it. Since the amplitude of the effective current is directly detected to know the magnitude of a load, the magnitude of a load applied to the motor can be accurately known irrespective of the ambient temperature and the temperature of the motor itself.
