Abstract:

To provide a motor drive control device and a motor drive control method capable of detecting step-out of a stepping motor with high accuracy.SOLUTION: A motor drive control device comprises: a motor control circuit that generates a drive control signal for controlling rotation of a stepping motor; and a motor drive circuit that periodically switches an energization pattern of a current flowing in coils of a plurality of phases of the stepping motor by on/off-switching a plurality of switching elements on the basis of the drive control signal. The motor control circuit has: a threshold decision unit that decides a threshold used for step-out determination depending on the energization pattern from a plurality of thresholds based on resistance values related to the plurality of switching elements; a counter electromotive voltage measurement unit that measures a counter electromotive voltage induced to a coil in which energization is stopped, at the switching of the energization pattern; and a step-out determination unit that determines step-out of the stepping motor on the basis of the measured counter electromotive voltage and the decided threshold.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
