Abstract:
To realize a motor drive device having a dynamic brake circuit which can apply dynamic brake while securing safety without burdening a device and a motor drive system.SOLUTION: A motor drive device 1 which drives a motor 3 on the basis of power supplied from a power source 2 comprises: a dynamic brake circuit 11 which generates deceleration torque in the motor 3 to brake the motor 3 by short-circuiting between input terminals of the motor 3 via a variable resistor 22; and a resistance value setting unit 13 which sets a resistance value of the variable resistor 22 according to an allowable coasting distance which is allowed to the motor 3 when the motor 3 is braked by the dynamic brake circuit 11, a prescribed parameter regarding the motor 3, and rotational speed of the motor 3 at the start of brake by the dynamic brake circuit 11.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
